OWNER | Laura
Laura Smith has owned and operated the Chop Shop Hair Salon since the doors opened in 1991. She works behind the chair and is passionate about keeping the warm and welcoming atmosphere of the salon. Laura specializes in color and is passionate about mentoring new stylists, finding fulfillment in sharing her knowledge and helping others grow within the industry.
STYLIST | Tina
Tina has been in the industry for 34 years and has proudly spent 33 of them at The Chop Shop, where she was the very first employee and now serves as manager. A South Eastside Chicago native, she specializes in hair and waxing, and also works as a real estate agent. Tina is a proud mom of two and treasures her trip to Italy as a favorite travel memory.
STYLIST | Gilda
With 35 years in the industry and 25 years at The Chop Shop, Gilda is a true expert in hair, nails, and skin. Originally from Italy, she brings warmth and care to every service. In her free time, she enjoys gardening, cooking, and baking. Her favorite movie is The Sound of Music, and she’s a loyal Dunkin coffee fan.
NAIL TECH | Carm
Carm has been with The Chop Shop for 25 years, specializing in nails with a creative and detailed touch. An early bird who loves fall and snacks on apples with peanut butter, she brings passion and consistency to every appointment. Outside the salon, Carm is a proud mom of three and a loving grandmother to two beautiful grandchildren.
STYLIST | Tracy has been with the Chop Shop for 22 years, specializing in razor cuts & lived in color. She's married with twin bonus daughters, two dogs & two cats, all whom she adores. She & her family love the rescues! When she's not working, she loves to travel, hike & garden, all while drinking Starbucks. Her favorite place she's visited is Joshua Tree National Park, but loves the California

Julie has been in the beauty industry for 31 years and has proudly called The Chop Shop home for the last 21. She’s passionate about all aspects of her craft, but nothing brings her more joy than giving haircuts her clients truly love.
